Kyle Brooks (Owner)

Kyle has been a hairstylist since 1984 and a salon owner since 2003. In addition to cutting hair full-time behind the chair, he manages Salon @ 5th.
Kyle received his training from Peter Web, a renowned platform artist in the UK. Additionally, he has taken countless hair classes since cosmetology school with a strong emphasis on men’s barbering and women’s hair design.
In his years working as a hairstylist, Kyle has worked in a variety of salons and spas in both New York state and Philadelphia. However, his favorite experience has been working in the small personal salon environment, especially in his favorite neighborhood Society Hill.

John Brown (manager – stylist)
Unisex design & styling, single or dimensional color, Keratin treatment and relaxers
John has had over seven years of experience in the beauty industry. Most recently, he has become a Wella Technical Specialist where he educates local salons on color theory and current color trends. John has advanced training at the P&G LA Studio and the Vidal Sassoon Academy. He has also attended cutting and color classes at the Redken Exchange NYC, Bumble & Bumble, Aveda and Wella.

Bernadette DePoulter (stylist)
updos, women’s and men’s cut and color, children’s cuts, styling, facial waxing, and keratin
As a daughter of a cosmetology instructor, Bernadette has been passionate about hair her entire life. She graduated from Jean Madeline Aveda Institute in 2006, and started working at Salon@5th in March 2006 as a stylist assistant, but now has her own chair and clientele. Bernadette finds it difficult to narrow down her favorite services to do, as she loves doing a wide range of them. Notably, she is an expert with wedding updos. She also attends classes regularly to further her education with the newest styles.

Jennifer Morrone (stylist)
color, cuts, make-up application, chemical services and facial waxing
Jennifer has over 20 years of experience as a stylist in the south street/society hill area. Jennifer has owned and managed two successful salons in the south street area for ten years. Jennifer joined salon @5th in 2008. She has familiarity with many color lines, has advanced training in cutting, color with Aveda and Wella. Also, Jennifer specializes in formal up stlyes as well as make-up application.

Lauren Clapper (assistant)
Lauren is the newest addition to Salon @ 5th. She studied cosmetology at Rizzieri Aveda school for beauty and wellness, and has been doing hair for over a year. Her strongest points and favorite things to do are blow drying, color, and hair cutting for both men and women. Her longtime goal has been to work at Salon @ 5th.
